Sexify your Life this October

To me, October is all about the fun and festivities associated with Autumn and Halloween. Night approaches sooner and there is a crisp chill to the air. The darkness is deeper and what moves in the shadows longs for a taste of mortal pleasure.
Hehe. Yes, I love this month and here's why.
One of my favorite things to do is bake pumpkin cookies. So delicious. How do you make pumpkin cookies? Well, for me it's just pumpkin bread rolled and then flattened into a moist cookie shape before baking. I'm a simple cook, though I'm sure you can find some amazing recipes on the internet.
Then there is the decorating to do.
I bring out my fall decorations of red and gold leaves, but there are also the paper skeletons to hang and the vampires to attract. Oh, repel, excuse me.

Still, if just can't help yourself and want to submit to fangs, might I suggest my Vampiric Indulgence stories. It's just the right amount of naughty for those with innocent necks. *grin*
Tasting Camilla: When Camilla's blood awakens Vladislas's deepest eternal hunger, who will be declared the true captive?
Craving Elisa: Can vampire hunter Brandt resist Elisa's decadent offer of gratitude?
Click the above Vampiric Indulgence stories link to get your fang action with these two great short stories.

Personally, I'm all about demon bargainer and Lord of the Crimson Shroud, Sindriel. Yes, October and especially Halloween is his thing. For a demon-bargainer there is no more fun month. Here's a link to find out more about him and his delicious adventures.
Starting October 1st I have a challenge for readers and fellow authors. It's a quest for assistance from the best people that I know. Check it out tomorrow.

What do you do to celebrate the month of October? What's your favorite paranormal beastie that will keep you entertained this month?

Until next time, readers.

My Playlist while writing Sindriel

I'm one of those writers who loves writing with music in the background. Sometimes the songs bring scenes to life, and other times I can imagine my hero or heroine relating to the song.

I thought I'd share the songs that I replayed most often while writing Sindriel. Rock music brought this story home for me, so here's my playlist (in no particular order):

Forever by Papa Roach
All or Nothing by Theory of a Deadman
Angel by Theory of a Deadman
Broken by Seether
Bring me to Life by Evanescence
Wrong side of Heaven by 5 Finger Death Punch. When I first watched the video of this song I cried. It reminds you what those who swear to protect us will give and how we must do more for them. I highly recommend the album, GOT YOUR SIX, where this song came from.
I find music to be a great expresser of emotion. I encourage you to check out the songs, both before and after reading Sindriel. Personally, I enjoy going to see the above bands when they're in concert in my area. Nothing like a live show to get your blood pumping.

Bake or buy, What's your favorite Autumn Food?

It's finally Autumn and I've bought my first fresh pumpkin pie of the season. The stores also have their fresh pumpkin breads out. Yum. While I'm not a pumpkin connoisseur there are a lot of cookies, cakes and pies that I look forward to this time of year. My favorite combination is pumpkin and chocolate, so by default I love chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. I believe there is even pumpkin ice cream, though don't quote me on that.

I haven't tried pumpkin flavored coffee. I'm a bit leery. As a writer, coffee is very important to me and I'm a bit fussy when it comes to taste. I love butter rum cakes but hate butter rum coffee. The best coffee I ever tasted came fresh from Puerto Rico. It's was delicious, mild, and I could drink it forever.

Back to my pumpkin obsession. I think it's all the spices that go with pumpkin that make for such delicious desserts. I love the scent and flavor of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. When you cook with these, it just fills up the house and declares that Fall is here.

I do bake ginger cookies for the family. I use a box recipe, but I grate in a lot of fresh ginger to give the cookies a good kick of flavor. I think it's little personalized touches like that which can make a baker out of someone with no natural talent for baking. (me *grin*)

Lastly, there are the roasted pumpkin seeds. Mmmm. These I do with great success. I love how you can roast them with a little butter and salt for a simple snack, or dress them up with spices. They are delicious and always a favorite at my house.

What foods are you looking forward to baking or buying this Autumn season?

New Release: SINDRIEL [Siren Allure: Erotic Fantasy Romance, demons, M/F, HEA]

Miranda Contreras never thought a bad choice in men could cause her to lose her soul. She must now call upon on a demon bargainer for help.

Demon bargainer and Lord of the Crimson Shroud, Sindriel, always bargains to his own benefit. What will he take from Miranda as payment for his assistance?

Miranda's life soon becomes one of hell realms and dangerous pleasures. Will she regain her soul but lose her chance at true love?

Sindriel has wanted Miranda from the moment he saw her at the wedding. He reveals his true nature to her to insure her safety in his realm while he retrieves her soul, which seems the perfect opportunity to indulge in her charms. He'll face off against demons to retrieve her soul, but will he choose to discard her rather than face the truth of his own heart?

A Siren Erotic Romance

(Adult) Story Excerpt:

Sindriel watched the woman rise out of the swimming pool, naked as a goddess in heat, and feared he’d signed his own demise.

He stared, unable to think. Had he conjured her? For a moment, the stupidity of hope held him immobile.

Her lush curves and pale, caramel-cream skin shimmered in the moonlight. Her long, dark hair curled over wet, peaked nipples and trailed down to her waist. She looked ripe for a night of pleasure with a demon like him. It was not, however, her body, but her identity, that shook him.

Miranda was the supplicant.

Oh, the nights he’d dreamed of seeing this woman naked and desirous for him. Too bad these circumstances were not to his liking. What fresh hell brought her to him in this manner?

He left the deeper shadows of the backyard trees and stepped into the moonlight.

Miranda stared at him with wide, surprised eyes but then gave a loud cough that might have destroyed his goddess fantasy, as if her identity hadn’t done that already. That was the trouble with the summoning ritual. One never saw the face of the supplicant.

Her mouth hung open in amazement even as she tried to cover herself with her hands. “Sindriel,” she squeaked.

“Miranda,” he murmured.

His bit the inside of his lip to keep from smirking as she rushed to cover her nakedness and dove for a towel sitting on a nearby chair. He possessed excellent vision at night, but he wouldn’t share that with her. He never would have guessed she’d ever perform a summoning ritual for a demon.

“It worked,” she exclaimed, wrapping the towel tight around her. The material did nothing to disguise the plumpness of her breasts.

His dreams hadn’t done her justice, come to think of it now.

What was she doing summoning a demon—summoning him? Suddenly it irritated him to know that she’d discovered his secret. Last he’d seen of her, she’d been dabbling in demon hunting or some such thing if the scent in her house were any indication. Why would she take such a risk as to call on him?

He’d find out soon enough. “What is it that a mysterious wet goddess might want from a humble, demon bargainer as me?”

3 Days until Sindriel is Unleashed (Fantasy Erotic Romance)

We're in the countdown to Sindriel's debut appearance.

Sindriel is my first, full length novel to be published on September 20th. I love writing short stories and novellas, but this hero demanded more of me and I think I delivered in a big way.
He's everything you'd expect of the Lord of the Crimson Shroud and demon bargainer. He's sexy, wicked and intelligent with a code of honor unlike any other. You'll be as shocked as I was by his origins but I was glad to find that the heroine, Miranda, didn't falter when it came to loving Sindriel.

Some demons are just worth the walk through hell, I suppose. *wink*
If you haven't read the precursor novella to this book, Love's Demon Ways, you can pick up both stories for a great price. It's not every woman who can love a demon and not want him to be human.

I've always believe that love is transformative. Our hearts aren't meant to stay broken and our pasts aren't meant to be all that defines us. The courage to fall in love and give to another makes you vulnerable, but with the right person that vulnerability becomes strength.

Sindriel Blurb: Miranda Contreras is literally a woman whose soul has been stolen. When she summons a demon bargainer for help, her life becomes one of hell realms and sacrifices. Will she regain her soul, only to lose her heart to a wicked savior?

Demon bargainer and Lord of the Crimson Shroud, Sindriel, has wanted Miranda from the moment she saw her. The pretext to keep her safe in his realm, while he retrieves her soul, seems the perfect opportunity to indulge in her charms. He'll face off against other demons for her, but can he face the truth of his own heart?

A Perspective for #Authors not yet on the Bestseller list

What's the first thing we do as authors but compare ourselves to others? "Yes, I've published a book, but have never been on the Bestseller list like…so and so".  It's a self-destructive way of thinking so many of us indulge in that it's almost innate.

How can we move forward from this thought process?

First, let's acknowledge a few truths.

We all want to be as successful as those authors we look up to. Writers love to write and for many publishing is enough. Still, for most authors having a book published, and then making it onto the Bestseller list is a whole higher platform. Most authors want to achieve the same name recognition and prestige as our favorites.

The question is whether measuring yourself in such a way is realistic and helpful to you and your career as an author.

Personally, it drags me down to compare myself to others. I start thinking how great my favorite authors are and how my writing will never be as good. The critically most frequent, and worst, time authors do this to ourselves is when we have a new release. We've watched other authors rise to the top within minutes of their new release. Our book comes out with a trickle of response even though we've put in so much work to promote it.

So then what can any author do to keep their head above water and believe more in themselves? It's time to advance our thinking.

First, decide what success is to you.

Is it seeing your sales ranking rise? Is it getting a shout out from a reader? Personally, I draw strength from friends at work who read my book and ask questions or have comments. It's a morale booster to hear their excitement, because they're true readers and not just friends. I also love shout-outs on Twitter.

Second, recognize that although it seems as if everyone but you has been on the bestseller list, you are still a successful author because you wrote and published a book.

So many people say they'd love to write a book, or that they could write a book if they had time. Well, you've made the time and become a published author. You've achieved that distinction. Be proud of reaching such a successful status. Many people will never know the pride and privilege of what you've achieved.

Lastly remember that writing is a process. The more you write, the more you grow as a writer. This goes along with remembering the reason that you write. Those vibrant characters in your head want to be heard, and you're the only one who can bring them to life. So, enjoy your characters and enjoy the journey they take you on.

The bestseller list can still be your goal, but don't let it define you as a writer. You're words are special. You're books are unique.

Give your all to what you write and readers will connect. A great book is a treasure to a reader. Write the best book that you can, and you will feel the satisfaction of true success. WRITE ON, friends.

Nick shrugged off his coat and worked open the buttons on Luke’s waistcoat. Neither man gentle, or patient with the other. Luke tore open his coat, the last button flying off.
Nicholas attempted to save his clothes from the same fate by falling to his knees. He freed Luke, stroking him while licking his own lips.
“Do you suck like a girl?” Luke asked, his fingers curling in Nicholas’ blond hair to hold his head steady. Luke rocked his hips, thrusting into Nick’s mouth.
Nick sighed at that first taste; male musk, and something else—something distinctly Luke flooded his taste buds. Tonight, he took his time, sharing the pleasure. It reached a deep, haunting ache inside him. He rolled his tongue over Luke and opened his throat to the other man’s thrusts.
Luke pulled out quickly, stopping his climax. “I want more,” he declared, pulling Nick to his feet. Luke’s fingers fumbled with the remaining buttons of Nick’s fly.
The door opened and both men turned to find the lady of the house, and her maid, standing in the doorway. The lady’s eyes brightened. “Well, it seems we’ve arrived just in time. Undress me, Lilian.” The maid set to work unpinning the woman’s curls and removing her dress.
“Don’t mind Beatrice,” Luke said, releasing Nick’s pants. “She likes to watch.”

September is Action Packed with Entertainment

I love the Fall season. It's just so beautiful and full of possibilities. That said, what are your top picks as far as movies, books, and television entertainment? Here are mine.

The only movie premiere that has caught my attention is Morgan. The preview appears quite creepy and I'm hoping it's worth my time. There are those that have promise of being interesting such as Sully, The Magnificent Seven and Deepwater Horizon to name a few. Any movies you're looking forward to this month?

There are so many books released every day that it's hard to pick just one, but here is my top pick for a new release (that isn't my own).

The paranormal romance I'm looking forward to reading this month is Winter Born by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It releases September 6th.

Sindriel is also scheduled for a September/October 2016 release date for those who need that badboy demon-bargainer with the crimson shroud. Keep an eye out for a presale link to come.

For tv I have four top picks that I'm looking forward to watching. Do any of these overlap with what you're looking forward to?

Lucifer (season 2) returns on September 19th. This is a true guilty pleasure of mine and I hope this season is as interesting as the first.

Bull premieres on September 20th for those who like something that appears both a bit more intellectual. Kind of reminds me of Hugh Laurie in House in terms of comedy. We'll see.

Designated Survivor with Kiefer Sutherland premieres on September 21st.  That looks interesting.

MacGyver is remade for a new generation on September 23rd. I don't generally like remakes, so I'm not sure this will hold my attention. Nonetheless, I'm willing to see if it's worth my time.

What has you excited this September? I'm sure I missed some favorites out there. Leave me a comment and tell me what you're looking forward to seeing in movies, television and your favorite upcoming book release.
