Recovered (The Shapeshifters' Library: Book Three) by Amber Polo

“A fantastic novel" --Midwest Book Review
From the award-winning author of THE SHAPESHIFTERS' LIBRARY series, RELEASED and RETRIEVED, comes the long awaited third installment!

Bliss D. Light was just an ordinary children’s librarian until one day she discovered she could grow a tail. Now her life is filled with more magic than any of the fairy tales she tells the children who gather at her feet at the Shipsfeather library. Like many of the other residents of Shipsfeather, Ohio, Bliss is a dog-shifter, and her newly discovered ability to change from human form into that of a sleek white greyhound has left her yearning to know more about her true heritage. The answer to all her questions, she is certain, lies with the dog-shifters’ long lost Library of the Ancients and, undeterred by the fact that thousands before her have searched, she sets out to find it.

Accompanied by her best friend Harry, a disgraced werewolf/dog-shifter mix, and hotly pursued by the evil werewolf team of Sybilla and Blaze, Bliss’s quest takes her across the sacred sites and ancient mounds of the American Southwest. Though kidnapped by dogcatchers, sold into racetrack slavery and forced to fight wolf dogs to survive, Harry and Bliss never lose sight of their goal—or each other. Because the only thing more important than finding the ancient lost treasure might just be preserving what they already have found: an unlikely love that could be the first step toward bringing two ancient enemy races together.

Sleepy Hollow, Anyone?

As we slide into autumn, I am excited to see what looks to be a good paranormal show on Fox is coming up. Sleepy Hollow will debut on Monday, September 16th, and I can't wait!
In watching the previews, I'm wondering if I'll be crushing on Icabod Crane. Yeah, he looks a little edgy and educated. An interesting combination, if I may say so. Not to mention that the whole headless horseman thing has got to be the coolest.  Here's the link if you'd like to check out the previews:
Sometimes those classic Halloween tales are unbeatable. Perhaps it's just the shifting of the season with the leaves turning shades of red and gold, but I can't help but love the coming changes.
If anyone must know, I've already created my fall flower arrangements for the living room, and bought a few interesting Halloween pieces for October. Yep, I'm ready to get my scary on!
So who will be watching the premier of Sleepy Hollow with me?
I'm thinking it'll be a trending topic on Twitter come the 16th. We'll have to wait and see.

UPCOMING: Just a note for the paranormal lovers, I'll have the amazing Amber Polo here on my blog on September 20th. Yes, you guessed it, she has a newly released book out and I've the the goods. Mark the date and check it out!

Good Family Balance is a Quackin' Good Time

Sometimes boredom can be a best friend in disguise. Here's what I mean…
Last Wednesday while flipping through TV channels and finding nothing of interest, I turned it on Duck Dynasty. I've heard the name of the show before, but had never stopped to watch an episode. Woe is me on what I have been missing.
This show is funny and heartwarming all in one. I'll tell you how much I enjoyed the episodes that I watched; I went out and bought the Season One DVD. It's only right, since I don't actually know what season I was watching on TV.
What I love about this show is simple: good family balance.
It's hard to put into words how great it was to watch a family interact in a healthy way on TV. There are a lot of relatable moments on the show, and wisdom from the patriarch, Phil, will bring a smile to your face.
No matter how different our lives are—corporate, country or a mix of both; we should all strive for that good family balance that builds strong ties that will see us through those tough times.
Even when my family has disagreements we always try to remember that we're what we got in this life and we should always stand for one another.
Any readers who are also Duck Dynasty fans? Catch new episodes every Wednesday night.  What's your take on the show?
I'm off to find Season Two.
